In our lifetime, we have been n love with a person or just with the idea of being in love. We have endured sufferings and pains, mockery and sacrifices and yet, we would always look for that feeling of being IN LOVE.
Yet, in my lifetime, i have heard too many stories of a broken family and shattered dreams caused by people in our lives that are not satisfied with the love that we can offer. We think that we are giving our 101% for the relationship to last but sure enough... it isn't enough. It WILL never be enough for people who values themselves more than their spouses and husbands. Not enough attention; not enough sex-drive or an overflow even; not enough food and even not enough beauty. A thousand more reasons to leave the one you promised forever.
But how about those couples who have lasted silver anniversaries and even golden anniversaries? Ah! Alas! They are the wisest. Lives of their children would follow their footsteps for a lasting family ties because after all, children may not obey their parents but they would surely listen. Listen and follow suit if the path has been proven safe and useful.
Lastly, I have realized that to stay IN LOVE with the person no matter what had transpired in your relationship is that to accept the inalienable truth that everybody changes. One way or another, we are not the same person we were yesterday and that's a fact that we must face and endure. We do mingle with different people and we eat different food on different plates. Needless to say that our experiences in day-to-day living teaches us subliminally and we do respond with favor to our own taste and hidden desires.
I guess, one of the most shocking but truthful lesson I can share is that. To stay INLOVE and to MAKE IT LAST is to decide for yourself whether to run from the mistakes of your partner and TRY to look for another that you HOPE would give you the love you have always wanted or to STAY and say to yourself... "I would rather stay with this person that I have CERTAINLY LOVE all my life and show him the way back to my heart rather than leave him and be with someone else with a future of UNCERTAINTIES!
